Peace River Wildlife Center

Peace River Wildlife Center (PRWC) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation and education organization serving Southwest Florida. Our current Education Center is nestled among the mangroves overlooking Charlotte Harbor at Ponce de Leon Park in Punta Gorda, Florida.

Our Ponce Park Education Center and gift shop  are open to visitors daily from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Our wildlife rehabilitation hospital is located separately at 223 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The hospital is not open to the public for tours, but injured and orphaned native wildlife may be dropped off between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. every day of the year, including holidays.

PRWC is not a government agency and does not currently receive government funding for its operations. The care of our permanent wildlife residents, treatment of more than 2,500 wildlife patients each year, educational programs, and daily operations depend on the generosity of our community. Donations, grants, memberships, gift shop purchases, fundraising events, and other community support make this work possible.

Our mission is carried out by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and education of native Florida wildlife.
